Getting Started

Languages & Countries

Dijon Platform gives you a lot of flexibility in choosing the content presented to your potential supporters. You can configure your campaign for users around the globe specifying content in their language and even different content for their country. For example, you may wish to use another term for monthly donations in the US than in the UK.

So when you are configuring your Dijon Platform account, you need to decide who your audience is. Are you an organisation that deals with fundraising exclusively in one country, or is there a list of countries, and therefore languages, you need to support?

Dijon Platform has a concept of a "Default" country, language and currency. It uses these defaults when there is no more specific content to display.

It makes sense for organisations servicing a single country to use the "Default" country and language to configure their campaign content.

For example, if your default language is English, enter your content for English under "Default", then people with a language you haven't added will see that English content.

A global organisation should choose their default language and country, enter that default content, enter more specific content for each language, and enter any unique content for a country.
